SHOPPING FOR EVERYTHING
NORFOLK, VA - Whether you want to spend the day antiquing, rummaging for flea market treasures or searching for sales at one of the area’s super-malls, Norfolk offers fabulous finds. Hundreds of diverse shops make Norfolk the shop capital of Hampton Roads.

The spectacular $300 million MacArthur Center is a three-level urban showplace with over one million square feet of shopping with more than 120 nationally known retailers, specialty stores, restaurants and entertainment including Nordstrom’s and Dilliard’s.

As one of the oldest cities in the country, Norfolk is a haven for antique buyers, sellers, history buffs and those who just love to browse. Historic Ghent, named for the Treaty of Ghent, is a charming neighborhood just minutes from downtown Norfolk. The area combines beauty and charm with its eclectic mix of outdoor eateries and shops. Known as Virginia's largest antiquing area, this neighborhood also features one of a kind boutiques, consignment shops and thrift stores peppered throughout the tree-lined streets and turn of the century architecture.

The Palace Shops in Ghent offer a fine selection of stores, such as The Wild Hare/White Rabbit, which offers both children and adult clothing, modern Decorum furniture designers and boutique's like Lili's of Ghent. Beyond this area, Fine American and European furniture, architectural artifacts, paintings, pottery, china, silver, glassware and other collectibles are sold by knowledgeable antique dealers throughout the city. Norfolk's historic links to the sea are also evident in the impressive collections of nautical artifacts available - including the symbol of the city - the Norfolk mermaid.

Norfolk’s historic Waterfront Business District offers an easy blend of old and new with contemporary shops, bookstores, jewelers and craft stores intermingled with antique shops.

Granby Row is a neighborhood paradise for local artists with an eclectic blend of art galleries, specialty shops, designer shops and fine furniture stores nestled in the recently restored financial district of Norfolk.

A Norfolk shopping tradition since 1957, the Southern Shopping Center has 35 shops and restaurants. The Gallery at Military Circle Mall, Wards Corner and Janaf Shopping Center round out the retail experience with hundreds of popular shops, restaurants and movie theaters.
